I finished my dentistry studies in Simferopol in 2005 and shortly after, set up my own clinic in Jordan. I was then offered work in Riyadh and stayed there for 5 years working evening shifts as a dentist and morning shifts in a management position.
In 2013 I decided to develop my skill in management so I decided to pursue my MBA at Northampton University. After successfully completing my MBA l worked as the marketing director for the largest chain of pharmacies in Jordan for 2 years and last year, 2015, l started this project, IMTA, with my
team. When I first opened up my clinic, I had no idea about marketing or how to brand my practice much less create a business plan and calculate depreciation! These were all new to me and I had to gain the knowledge through training.
One of the tasks undertaken by senior staff doctors is training new doctors, however most of them have not undergone training with regard to developing management skills or how to deal with difficult delegates.
A majority of Pharmacists & medical representatives may also lack interpersonal skills after graduation. This is an essential area of focus as they need to learn how to be professional, especially in negotiating with suppliers and customers as well.
Then there are the nurses who play a major role in patient satisfaction in the hospital and in order to do so effectively they must attend some communication and leadership training at some point! In my round the world trips during the last couple of years, I discovered a startling gap in the quality of MENA region hospitals and healthcare system overall. I examined the possible causes for this; I realized that the root of this issue
was that healthcare professionals do not undergo training for leadership, management, and communication skills or any other interpersonal skills.
Thus, I was motivated to remedy this problem with an academy that will train medical professionals in skills that are essential in improving the region’s healthcare to the level of quality that you can find in the United Kingdom.
